Morta Holly Woodlawn, icona transgender che ispirò Lou Reed per “Walk on the Wild Side”

L’attrice transgender Holly Woodlawn, musa ispiratrice di Lou Reed per la canzone Walk on the Wild Side, è morta all’età di 69 anni.

I versi di apertura della celebre canzone immortalano la Woodlawn citandola espressamente per nome: «Holly came from Miami, F-L-A/ Hitchhiked her way across the U.S.A/ Plucked her eyebrows on the way/ Shaved her legs, and then he was a she/ She said, ‘hey babe, take a walk on the wild side». L’attrice apparve in numerosi film, tra cui Trash (1970), Women in Revolt (1972) e Billy’s Hollywood Screen Kiss (1998).
