In uscita il 6 aprile 2018 via Legacy, Johnny Cash: Music Forever è l’album tributo a Johnny Cash in cui numerosi musicisti adattano in musica le poesie scritte e pubblicate dal cantautore statunitense nella raccolta Forever Words: The Unknown Poems. Tra gli artisti coinvolti, ci sono il compianto Chris Cornell, Elvis Costello, Kacey Musgraves, Brad Paisley, Jewel, T-Bone Burnett e Robert Glasper.
L’iniziativa è stata fortemente voluta dal figlio di Johnny Cash, John Carter: «Ho coinvolto – ha detto a Pitchfork – gli artisti che sono più legati a mio padre, che hanno una storia personale collegata a lui». Di seguito il trailer del lavoro.
