Unica release su major, The Burning World è il sesto album della post-punk band Swans. Il disco, prodotto da Michael Gira e Bill Laswell, contiene Can’t Find My Way Home, una cover di Steve Winwood. Nel 2011 Gira, parlando con Mojo, ha disconosciuto il lavoro: “aborro quel disco. Bill Laswell è un ottimo produttore, ma non siamo riusciti a integrarci bene durante le session. Ero intimidito e ho cantato in questa modalità monotona. Non ha venduto molto e così siamo stati scaricati“.
