Ispirato da Le ombre degli avi dimenticati, film del 1964 del regista russo Sergej Paradžanov, You have already gone to the other world è il sesto album degli A Hawk And A Hacksaw, ovvero l’ex batterista dei Neutral Milk Hotel Jeremy Barnes e la compagna/violinista Heather Trost.
Prodotta da John Dieterich dei Deerhoof e arricchita da frammenti del lungometraggio, la tracklist attraversa lo spettro del folklore ucraino, rumeno e ungerese ampliando la lente mistica e fantasmagorica della pellicola peraltro già sonorizzata (e portata in tour) lungo il 2012 .
