Si è svolta a Los Angeles la notte scorsa la 69ª edizione della cerimonia di consegna dei Premi Emmy, il più alto riconoscimento annuale per il mondo del piccolo schermo. In questa edizione presentata da Stephen Colbert, sono stati premiati Black Mirror per l’episodio basato sugli anni ’80 San Junipero (che si è aggiudicato il premio come miglior TV Movie), Big Little Lies (alcuni premi, tra cui quello per la miglior serie limitata e a Nicole Kidman, come migliore attrice per una mini serie) e al solito Veep (Julia Luis-Dreyfus premiata come migliore attrice per una serie comica). Su tutti ha stravinto la serie tv distopica su Hulu Handmaid’s Tale che si è aggiudicata il maggior numero di award, tra cui quello per la miglior serie tv drammatica, con Elisabeth Moss a vincere l’Emmy come migliore attrice in una serie drammatica.
Altri premi sono andati anche a Riz Ahmed, metà dei Swet Shop Boys (attore nella serie The Night Of), Aziz Ansari (miglior sceneggiatore assieme a Lena Waithe per Master of None) e Donald Glover (migliore attore principale in una commedia tv e miglior regista sempre per una commedia tv per Atlanta).
