Inauguriamo il neonato canale Youtube di SA con una chicca esclusiva, la prima – speriamo – di una lunga serie.
Si tratta del video – ma c'è poco da vedere, viste le condizioni di ripresa, leggi buio pesto; l'audio, a parte qualche spernacchiamento da superbasso all'inizio, dovrebbe essere decente – con l'intero set che Kode9 ha tenuto ieri (9 novembre) a sorpresa, verso mezzanotte*, prima del suo vero e proprio dj set notturno (dalle 3 alle 6), all'Hiroshima Mon Amour di Torino, per la Hyperdub Night voluta da Club to Club festival nella sua seconda giornata (dentro anche Actress, Laurel Halo, Scratcha DVA, Disclosure, Jam City).
Kode9 ha suonato in anteprima alcuni pezzi inediti di Burial, facenti forse parte di un nuovo album.

* Ma la cosa era super-rumoured fin dal primo giorno del festival; e lo stesso Kode9 ci aveva confermato l'indiscrezione quando l'avevamo beccato al Lapsus (giorno 8) dopo il set di Lone.
Steve Goodman – electronic producer under stagename Kode9, mastermind of Hyperdub Records label and author of book Sonic Warfare – premieres some Burial tunes at the Hyperdub Night at Hiroshima Mon Amour, on the occasion of Club to Club music festival, Torino, November 9, 2012. The set was sandwiched between Guido Savini's and Jam City's, and was not announced (on the program it was just written "23.30: surprise"), but it has been largely rumoured (Kode9 personally confirmed it to me the day before, after the Lone live set at Lapsus club, November 8). The video quality is not bad itself, but it's all dark and there are some crakling superbasses (especially at the beginning, since I was too next to the speakers). Besides, at a certain point, I got bored of filming keeping still and I started fooling around with the camera, focusing on silly details (the Redbull logo, some big starlights the staff gave to some guys in the audience, the exit signal, some light reflections on the floor). So, then, just listen to this cool post-Moth housey Burial material and enjoy the mood, the ambience, the sound. The very same day (a few hours before, at 17.00), at the Kode9 Listening Sessions (Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo), Kode9 had played his own unreleased – and unfinished – track, that will probably be released in 2013.
