Kanye West sta gradualmente ritornando (se non alla normalità) alla sua consueta attività pubblica fatta di trovate eccentriche, comparsate live a sostegno di amici e ritiri in studio di registrazione (prontamente paparazzati) per incidere nuovo materiale e pensare a inediti progetti never seen before. C’è da dire che è un ritorno senza troppa spocchia o fanfare, all’insegna di una supposta (meglio voluta) umiltà, e del resto l’interruzione forzata del Saint Pablo Tour per esaurimento nervoso e la controversa questione Trump sono ferite ancora aperte.
Della settimana scorsa sono le dichiarazioni concesse all’interior designer Axel Vervoordt per Hollywood Reporter riguardo alla stesura di un libro di filosofia intitolato Break the Simulation, accompagnate da frasi come «I don’t wish to be number one anymore, I wish to be water, I wish to be closer to UNICEF…», e da riflessioni sull’uso che si fa oggi della fotografia («Ho un concept in mente sulle fotografie, di come le persone ne sono ossessionate…»), mentre di queste ore è la rivelazione che la pubblicazione a cui il Nostro alludeva coincide con il suo profilo twitter.

«Nessun editore né casa editrice mi diranno cosa metterci o quante pagine dovrà avere – ha affermato sempre via social media – questo è un innato bisogno di esprimermi». In pratica West sta scrivendo il libro in tempo reale e continuerà a farlo quando «ne avrà voglia», perché «certa gente ha bisogno di lavorare all’interno di una data consapevolezza, altra gente è in grado di traslarla».
