Alcuni supporter di Donald Trump hanno intonato Killing in the Name, celebre hit dei Rage Against the Machine che ha chiaramente tutt’altro significato rispetto a quello inteso dai sostenitori del partito repubblicano. Lo fa notare anche lo stesso Tom Morello, che ha commentato la notizia con la sua tipica ironia.
In risposta al video emerso nella giornata di ieri, 6 novembre, di alcuni supporter di Trump che a Philadelphia cantano e danzano al ritmo della canzone, che parla notoriamente di rivoluzione contro il razzismo e della brutalità della polizia e dello Stato, Morello ha detto telegrafico: «Non esattamente quello che avevo in mente».
Immediata anche l’ironia da tutto il web, con commenti che vanno da “Come si possono ascoltare i Rage Against the Machine ed essere parte della machine” o “Quando non hai afferrato completamente il punto della questione”, o ancora “Chi glielo dice che i Rage Against the Machine sono letteralmente contro il capitalismo e lo Stato?”.
