Chissà se Thurston Moore potrà suonare in Italia a giugno 2020 con il suo gruppo per le date del 5 giugno all’Anfiteatro di Terni per la rassegna Degustazioni Musicali e il 6 giugno a Prato per Off Tune Festival; quel che è certo è che l’ex Sonic Youth vive e lotta con noi in laico ma religioso isolamento. A stretto giro dalla condivisione di 12 concerti della band tenuti nel corso della carriera, di queste ore è la pubblicazione via Bandcamp di un inedito del 2014 dei Chelsea Light Moving, band formata immediatamente dopo lo scioglimento del leggendario gruppo. L’unico album dei Chelsea Light Moving è stato pubblicato da Matador nel 2013 (recensione di Tommaso Iannini), mentre per quanto riguarda Moore, il chitarrista ha pubblicato a settembre dello scorso anno Spirit Counsel, un lavoro strumentale comprendente tre lunghe composizioni accreditate al Thurston Moore Group ispirate alla spiritualità nel jazz di Alice Coltrane (Alice Moki Jayne), al primo mentore dei Sonic Youth Glenn Branca (Spring Street) e a Galaxies di Sun Ra (recensione di Massimo Onza).
