Parlophone ha annunciato per l’11 ottobre 2018 il quarto boxset (11 cd o 15 vinili) della serie antologica che ripercorre per fasi creative la carriera di David Bowie. Come riportato dal titolo, Loving The Alien (1983 – 1988), la nuova pubblicazione si occupa del cuore della produzione degli 80s del Duca Bianco, un periodo che Giulio Pasquali ha ben analizzato nel nostro speciale approfondimento su queste pagine.
Particolarità del cofanetto: un live album mai pubblicato prima registrato a Montreal il 13 luglio del 1983 (Serious Moonlight), note tecniche di Nile Rodgers, Hugh Padgham e altri, nuove foto di Denis O’Regan, Greg Gorman e Herb Ritts e – il pezzo forte – una versione rimasterizzata dell’album Never Let Me Down che vanta anche una produzione nuova di zecca. A curare il nuovo mix l’ingegnere Mario McNulty e una band composta da Reeves Gabrels e David Torn alla chitarra, Sterling Campbell alla batteria e Tim Lefebvre al basso che ha re-inciso le parti strumentali. Inoltre Nico Muhly ha fornito nuovi arrangiamenti per quanto riguarda le parti riservate agli archi e Laurie Anderson compare in Shining Star (Makin’ My Love).
