Gli album più venduti del 2014 nel mondo – Primo trimestre

Resoconto degli album più venduti al mondo nel primo trimestre del 2013

Chiuso un 2013 che ha visto Unorthodox Jukebox di Bruno Mars sul trono dei dischi più venduti dell’anno, il 2014 si è aperto con timidezza, lasciando ancora parecchio spazio a dischi usciti mesi (in qualche caso anni) prima: tra le release di questi primi tre mesi dell’anno solamente High Hopes di Bruce Springsteen e G I R L di Pharrell sono riusciti a totalizzare cifre di un certo peso; per il resto, sul podio abbiamo la soundtrack di Frozen che da settimane domina negli USA, l’omonimo di Beyoncé, forte di un inizio clamoroso, e gli One Direction. Pure Heroine di Lorde sembra poter essere, tra i dischi female-pop, quello con una maggiore longevità, Racine Carrèe di Stromae continua ad abbattere record in Francia ed ha iniziato a raccogliere successo anche altrove, mentre Night Visions degli Imagine Dragons per il momento non sembra voler smettere di macinare copie su copie ogni settimana.

Segnaliamo invece una tendenza sempre più evidente, ovvero la facilità con cui gli artisti inglesi oggi riescono a trovare successo anche negli USA (negli anni ’90 era veramente raro), non solo per quanto riguarda degli Arctic Monkeys ancora in ottima forma (se continua così, AM diventerà il loro disco più venduto), ma anche Bastille, Ellie Goulding, London Grammar (benissimo anche in Francia e Australia) e 1975.
