Eccoci all’appuntamento di metà anno riguardante gli album più venduti nel 2014 nel mondo. Qualcosa si è mosso rispetto all’aggiornamento del primo trimestre, ma ai primi due posti della classifica troviamo gli stessi due album, ovvero la soundtrack di Frozen e l’omonimo disco di Beyoncé. Il primo continua a vendere ogni settimana cifre da capogiro, mentre il secondo vive da mesi di rendita, per le enormi vendite collezionate nelle primissime settimane dell’anno. In poche settimane i Coldplay si portano in terza posizione, confermando di essere, almeno mediaticamente, una band tutt’altro che finita.
Dietro di loro troviamo Pharrell, che grazie al singolo Happy è riuscito a confezionare un bel bottino anche con il – mediocre – album G I R L, e Lorde con il suo Pure Heroine, che a conti fatti tra le uscite female-pop da classicia dello scorso autunno è quello che per il momento ha avuto maggiore longevità (pur essendo ironicamente quello meno commerciale). In questo senso bene anche Katy Perry – in settima posizione dietro agli One Direction – mentre a livello generale il premio longevità va sicuramente assegnato a Night Visions (9°) degli Imagine Dragons, uscito a settembre 2012 e ancora saldamente nelle posizioni alte di molte classifiche internazionali.
Fuori scala il successo in Francia (1.650.000 copie solo lì) di Racine Carrèe di Stromae, ancora benissimo sia in UK che in USA gli Arctic Monkeys di AM così come i Bastille di Bad Blood. Tra gli album usciti recentemente, partenza con il botto per gli inglesi Sam Smith e Ed Sheeran, bene anche Lana Del Rey e Black Keys, anche se entrambi difficilmente raggiungeranno le cifre dell’album precedente.
